And yet, at the same time it has a little of everything on offer. The Santa Maria Golf Course, undoubtedly one of the prettiest courses in the area, borders untouched countryside along many of its fairways and it is not unusual for the green keepers to have to repair overnight damage from by wild boar! For those looking for a couple of hours golf, the 9 hole par 3 Greenlife Course is an ideal challenge.

Property in Elviria is varied, but demonstrates a great respect for nature and the privileged environment with houses built amid the pines and the unspoiled countryside. The cool and welcome shade of the trees makes Elviria the perfect year round destination.

Over the years the area has attracted shops, bars and restaurants and there is now a small, yet thriving community with just about everything one could look for from fresh bread in the morning to a relaxing cocktail as the sun goes down. Just a short stroll along the beach is the charming sporting harbor at Cabopino, a friendly port with bars and restaurants and sleek power boats gliding in and out of their berths under the glorious sunshine.

Quirkily, perhaps the best feature of Elviria is what it is not. It is not Marbella and it is not Fuengirola, but it is close enough to both to allow the resident to take advantage of all that those towns have to offer without having to sacrifice the tranquility and silence which Elvira has in spades. There is hardly any traffic and yet the coastal highway is on hand with quick connections to the rest of the coast and the airports at Malaga and Gibraltar.
