Christmas in Estepona 2025: What to Do

Estepona welcomes Christmas with an extraordinary programme of more than fifty cultural, musical and family activities designed to transform the town into one of the most vibrant festive destinations on the Costa del Sol.

The celebrations begin on 28 November with the official Christmas lights switch-on, and conclude on 5 January with the traditional Three Kings Parade departing from the Town Hall.

This year’s programme includes concerts, ballets, creative workshops, theatrical performances, gastronomic fairs, children’s events, and beloved traditions that showcase the charm, diversity and cultural richness of Estepona during the holiday season.

The holiday season begins on 28 November at 19:00 in Plaza Antonia Guerrero with the official switching on of the Christmas lights. The event will feature performances by the local Pastorales “Nostalgia Navideña” and “Jesús Cautivo,” along with a special appearance by Julia Fernández-Llébrez, winner of the youth category of the X Certamen “Estepona CREA’24”.

One of the biggest new additions this year is the Christmas Park located in the outdoor area of the Felipe VI Theatre. From 29 November to 4 January, visitors can enjoy:

• Ice skating rink
• Santa’s House
• Traditional carousel
• Bumper cars
• Ice slide
• Inflatable castles
• Food and refreshment area

Opening hours are from 17:00 to 23:00. On 25 December and 1 January, the park will open from 11:00. It will remain closed on 24 and 31 December.

The Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI presents a vibrant programme of performances designed especially for children and families. Highlights include:

• 28 Nov: Gran Circo Acrobático de China
• 29 Nov: “Las Guerreras del K-Pop”
• 30 Nov: “La Isla de Maui: Tributo a Vaiana”
• 5 Dec: Musical “80s y 90s”
• 7 Dec: Ballet “El Cascanueces”
• 12 Dec: Theatrical performance “Casa de Muñecas” by Ibsen
• 14 Dec: Musical “Tadeo Jones. La Tabla Esmeralda”
• 19 Dec: Christmas show by “Los Cantores de Híspalis” with Natalia Calceteiro
• 28 Dec: Double performance of Cantajuego “Las aventuras de Coco y Pepe” at 12:00 and 17:30

Another highly anticipated event is the Extraordinary Christmas Concert by the Municipal Band on 13 December at 20:00, accompanied by the Coral Magnum Mysterium and choirs from CEIP Sierra Bermeja and Colegio Atlas ASM. The XXIV Christmas Proclamation will be given by Macarena Arroyo Marín.

From 5 to 7 December, Estepona hosts the 1st Outlet Factory Fair, offering major fashion brands at exceptional discounts. Fifty percent of the €2 entry fee will benefit the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Estepona.

• 16 Dec: School Music Gathering (entry: 1kg of non-perishable food for Cáritas)
• 19–21 Dec: Circo Bravo Aqua presents “Magia de la Ilusión”

Estepona’s modern cultural centre will host several festive events:

• 11 Dec: Presentation of “Fundido a Negro” by Julio Peces Ruiz
• 12 Dec: Performance by the International Choir “Love to Sing”
• 17 Dec: Cultural journalism workshop with Braulio Ortiz Pole
• 18 Dec: Presentation of “Hombres que dicen Aleluya”

On 17 December at 19:30, the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel celebrates the 130th Anniversary of Cinema with a piano and vocal concert featuring film soundtracks, followed by a screening of Frank Capra’s classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946).

From 12 to 14 December, the popular gastronomic event Feria del Queso Popi “Sabor a Málaga” takes place on Calle Real, offering local cheese varieties and traditional flavours.

Estepona’s traditional festivities include:

• 16 Dec: Blessing and placement of Baby Jesus in the Municipal Nativity Scene (Plaza del Rocío)
• 18 Dec: Flamenco Christmas show by Asociación Estepona Flamenco “El Patio” in Plaza Antonio Gala
• 21 Dec: Santa’s Village in Plaza del Ajedrez with artificial snow, inflatables and workshops

The celebrations extend to various neighbourhoods including Cancelada and Nueva Atalaya, offering:

• 12 Dec: Zambomba Navideña in Cancelada with local sweets and roasted chestnuts
• 16 Dec: Seniors’ Christmas Gathering at CEIP Ramón Lago
• 17 Dec: Traditional Christmas sweets contest at the Tenencia de Alcaldía
• 13 Dec: Zambomba Navideña in Nueva Atalaya
• 20 Dec: Living Nativity Scene in Nueva Atalaya

The town welcomes 2025 with a popular New Year’s Eve party starting at 23:00 on 31 December in Plaza del Reloj. The event will feature live music by orchestra Q Gain with a Las Vegas-style show, free party bags and a fireworks display to mark the arrival of the New Year.

The celebration continues into January with activities honouring the Three Kings:

• 3 Jan: Delivery of letters to the Royal Postman in Plaza Antonia Guerrero
• 5 Jan 11:30: Children’s welcome party at the Fairground
• 5 Jan 17:00: Grand Three Kings Parade from the Town Hall to Plaza Antonia Guerrero
• 5 Jan 17:30: Parade in Cancelada from Calle Montemayor

The Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI opens the new year with two major events:

• 4 Jan: New Year’s Concert by the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra at 20:00
• 9–10 Jan: Theatre adaptation of Paz Padilla’s book “El humor de mi vida”
